GENERAL
Each presentation room is equipped with a data projector and screen and wireless internet access (see instructions when you pickup your registration material at the front desk). An operator will help you upload the presentation files.
PRESENTERS/SPEAKERS
The duration of talks in parallel sessions is 15 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions and answers. Please bring your slides in PDF (strongly preferred) or ppt format to the A/V operator in the room 15 minutes before the beginning of your session in a memory stick USB. The presentations will be projected using PC laptops with Microsoft Windows 10 (or similar). It is stronglyadvised not to use personal laptops for the presentations. Using PDF will ensure you face no compatibility issues among different operating systems. It is the speaker’s responsibility to check the quality of the presentation.
Plenary presentations are longer (30 minutes) but subject to the same requirements and procedures.
SESSION CHAIRS
We have identified the lead author of a presentation in each session (listed in the final program at IATBR2018.org) as Session Chair.
As Session Chair, your responsibilities are:
Arriving in the session room at least 15 minutes in advance of the session start time. The timing and location of your session is included in the conference program.
Encouraging presenters to load any required files on to one laptop prior to the start of the session. If presenters opt to use their own laptops, set-up time for swapping the laptops should be included in the presenters’ allotted 20 minutes.
Introducing presenters by name, affiliation, and title of presentation at the start of each paper in the session.
Monitoring presentation time: Each individual presentation has been allotted a total of 15 minutes for presentation, and 5 minutes for Q&A and discussion. In order for the sessions to run smoothly, it is essential to adhere to these time limits. In order for all presenters to have equal time, it is imperative that you enforce a time limit of 20 minutes each.
We suggest that you make it very clear to each presenter before the session begins that you will adhere strictly to the ‘20 minutes each’ rule and will interrupt should they exceed their limit.
We also suggest that you prepare a 5 minute warning, a 2 minute warning, and a 1 minute warning to guide the presenters. A piece of paper with a number written in large font will be sufficient. We will have some of these at the front desk.
We sincerely appreciate your assistance with ensuring that your session runs well. If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact us in advance (INFOiatbr2018@gmail.com), or to check in with the front desk during the conference itself.
