Taxi
Taxis have a minimum $15 charge and are usually a lot more expensive than UBER/LYFT

Driving
Parking on-campus at visitor stalls is $8.00 per day on weekdays and $4 on evenings and weekends. Parking structure 22 is the recommended and closest to UCEN

ACCOMMODATIONS & TRAVEL INFORMATION FOR THOSE STAYING IN SIERRA MADRE APARTMENTS:
PARKING
This temporary 60-minute parking permit should be used for check-in and unloading upon arrival while you obtain your complimentary long-term permit at the Sierra Madre Front Desk for lot 65. Please print out the temporary 60-minute permit and place it in your driver's side windshield. This will allow you to park in any spaces except those with handicapped zones or designated “Coastal Access” spaces. Without this permit, you could get a citation before you pick up your long-term parking permit.
If you wish to park on campus where session rooms are located, 22 Structure is the closest visitor lot. You may purchase your permit using the pay machine in the lot ($8 on weekdays and $4 on evenings and weekends).Attendees from other UC campuses enjoy UC Reciprocity visitor parking (see later in this document).

“PAY & DISPLAY” PARKING PERMIT MACHINES: Participants staying in HOTELS or other OFF-CAMPUS accommodations should drive directly to Parking Structure 22. Machines selling “Pay & Display” permits are located in this lot.
Follow the below driving directions and steps for purchasing a permit if you are coming from OFF-CAMPUS accommodations.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS:
· UCSB is easily accessible from highway US-101. Please see the map link at the top of this page. Note that if using driving directions/maps websites, there is no proper street address for UCSB; you can get basic directions by entering just the zip code of “93106”.
· From the South: Take US-101 northbound to the Airport/UCSB/Hwy 217 exit (appx. 8 miles north of downtown Santa Barbara). This expressway will take you directly into campus. Enter campus and proceed to Parking Structure 22, using map above.
· From the North: Take US-101 southbound to the Los Carneros Road exit and turn right on Los Carneros Road. Proceed to El Colegio Road. Turn left on El Colegio Road, proceed about 1/2 mile, and enter the UCSB campus. Proceed to Parking Structure 22, using map above.

UCSB Shuttles for Arrivals and Departures
FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE for participants residing in SIERRA MADRE VILLAGES: 805-893-8001 & IN SANTA ROSA RESIDENCE HALL: 805-893-2772 (Shuttle phone numbers not activated until 6/23/18)
You must phone upon arrival if you wish to use our free shuttle service to UCSB from the Santa Barbara Airport or from the Santa Barbara Airbus Goleta drop-off site. The shuttle will not automatically be at either location. Please walk out to the 2nd island at the Santa Barbara Airport near the 2nd covered Bus Stop and our shuttle picks-up at that location. We can no longer pick up curb-side at the Airport in Santa Barbara. We will pick you up within 10-15 minutes of receiving your call, and you will be driven to the Sierra Madre Villages. Our shuttle operates between 7am and 10pm. NOTE: For safety reasons, and in accordance with California’s Child Passenger Safety Law, we cannot provide shuttle services for families with children who are not at least 8 years old or at least 4’9” unless the family provides its own car/booster seat. If you do not have your own car/booster seat, you will need to take a taxi.
